2015 NFL Free Agents: Rumors and Predictions for Elite Stars on Market
The NFL is a quarterback league, thus, it only makes sense to start this article off with some buzz centered around one of the available signal-callers on the free-agent market. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently released Josh McCown, which further fuels the talk that the team is set to use the top pick in the 2015 NFL draft on a young quarterback.
Meanwhile, McCown is looking for a new gig. Per Mike Florio of NBC Sports, McCown met with the Buffalo Bills on Monday, but didn't come to an agreement. Florio writes:
"Per a league source, McCown will meet with a team in Indianapolis at the Scouting Combine. He then may meet with other teams at their facilities, after the Scouting Combine ends. There’s a chance something will happen in the interim that causes him to agree to terms, with the Bills or another interested team.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After a career-reviving season with the Chicago Bears in 2013, McCown came crashing back down to Earth for the Bucs in 2014. The 35-year-old threw 14 interceptions and just 11 touchdown passes in 11 games for Tampa Bay last season. He finished with a QB rating of 70.5.
McCown threw for 13 scores and only one interception for the Bears in 2013 with a 109 QB rating. A team that runs the West Coast offense and has large receivers might be willing to gamble that McCown can rekindle some of his Windy City magic in a scheme similar to then-head coach Marc Trestman's system.
Receivers Receiving Attention

Quarterbacks have to have someone to throw the ball to. Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers would probably love to have Randall Cobb back in the fold for next season. If Green Bay can get a deal done with the speedy receiver, it won't come cheap. Here's the details, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com:
"Indications are that Cobb is seeking a deal that averages in the $9 million per year range. That would come close to the four-year, $39 million contract extension the Packers gave receiver Jordy Nelson last summer."
The 24-year-old receiver had 91 receptions for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2014. It was his first 1,000-yard season in four years with the Packers. Every indication is that last season's performance was just the beginning for Cobb.
He's clearly looking to be compensated for his production.
Demaryius Thomas

A major part of the Denver Broncos attack is getting a lot of attention from other teams as the free-agent signing period approaches. Per Bleacher Report's Matt Miller: "I'm told the New York Jets plan to roll out the red carpet for Demaryius Thomas if he doesn't receive the franchise tag from the Denver Broncos."
Thomas just completed his third straight season with at least 1,400 yards receiving. In fact, he set career marks with 111 receptions and 1,619 yards. Without a question, he's one of the premier receivers in the NFL. That's all the more reason the Broncos will almost certainly use the franchise tag to ensure they keep his services.
If Peyton Manning is going to return for the 2015 season, you can bet he'll want Thomas in a Broncos uniform as a primary weapon.
