David Otunga thinks Barrett should immediately seek legal counsel:
Ambrose was forced to resort to desperate tactics after Barrett dismissed any idea that he'd willingly agree to the match:
The whole scene was a bit odd in that the idea of a physical contract for a title match is often only reserved for world title matches or major main events. WWE doesn't generally go through the whole song and dance for an Intercontinental Championship defense.
Legendary announcer Jim Ross argued that this adds a little bit more value to the long-neglected belt:
Asking Ambrose and Barrett to elevate the IC title on their own may be a bit too unrealistic, but they should deliver a fun match at Fastlane should they get enough time in the ring.
And perhaps this is part of a larger push by WWE to make secondary titles more important, which is something that's needed to happen for years.
