Beal Declares Himself Day to Day
Thursday, March 26
Beal went on 106.7 The Fan in D.C. with Chad Dukes and discussed his injury, calling himself "day to day" and saying he is "very frustrated" with injuries in the 2014-15 season (via Todd Dybas of the Washington Times).
On March 25, Chris Miller of CSN Washington reported Beal would miss the remainder of the Pacers game with a sprained right ankle suffered in the first half.
He scored five points and dished out two assists in 11 minutes of action before exiting.
It's not the first injury Beal has dealt with this season. He missed the first nine games of the regular season because of a wrist injury. He's also battled a lingering toe ailment a couple of times since the calendar flipped to 2015.
When healthy, the third-year player out of Florida has provided numbers right in line with his career averages. He's a capable second offensive option who chips in lightly in other categories.
Should the latest injury force him to miss time, the Wizards will likely spread out his minutes among several players. Rasual Butler, Otto Porter and Martell Webster are probably the leading candidates to see a notable uptick in usage.
