It's not a Super Bowl without the national anthem.
Before the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks faced off to determine the NFL champion, Idina Menzel took to the microphone to deliver the Star Spangled Banner to a sellout crowd inside University of Phoenix Stadium.
Menzel is most famous for singing "Let It Go" from the Disney movie Frozen—the song that's been the bane of many parents' existences since the film was released. The Sklar Brothers were half expecting Menzel to veer off into the the tune just because:

Since she's a Tony Award winner, there was little chance that Menzel would deliver a substandard rendition. Although it's unlikely to unseat Whitney Houston's timeless version before Super Bowl XXV, it was impressive nonetheless.
Plenty of fans were financially invested in the national anthem taking either the over or the under on the duration of Menzel's edition. According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, she came in at the over, singing for two minutes and five seconds:

One of the more unintentionally funny moments of the national anthem came when the video board inside the stadium showed Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Seahawks fans weren't afraid to interrupt their honoring of America with a few boos directed Belichick's way:
Menzel's performance probably won't go down in history as one of the greatest national anthems in Super Bowl history.
However, few can take umbrage with it, and it helped set the stage for what should be a fantastic matchup.
