Super Bowl National Anthem 2015: Highlights of Idina Menzel's Rendition
Idina Menzel let go (sorry) a rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner" to remember before Super Bowl XLIX.
The Broadway star, who ascended to international fame for her role as Elsa in the animated film Frozen, kicked off Sunday's matchup between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks with another flawless rendition of our national anthem.
The NFL tabbed Menzel for the performance last month. She'd previously sung the national anthem for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game. As for the question on everyone's mind, she was timed by ESPN's Darren Rovell as having taken two minutes and five seconds to sing the national anthem—four seconds longer than the two-minute, one-second over-under, per OddsShark.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"Oh, I love it. If they’re talking about me at the Super Bowl, I like it!" Menzel told Andrea Dresdale of ABC News in response to people betting on the performance. "I can’t help them though because I haven’t timed it yet! But I’ve been promising some people, if they let me know, I can maybe, like, glance up at the clock and then hold the vibrato a little longer and try to work it out!"
While it may not have satisfied those who bet the under, it's hard to quibble over Menzel's singing chops. Despite the raucous University of Phoenix Stadium and the knowledge that more than 100 million people were watching at home, Menzel never wavered a note and flashed the poise of someone with decades of experience on the stage.
Even when boos directed at Patriots coach Bill Belichick came cascading down mid-performance, she kept her cool and belted out some flawless, elongated notes.
Those who bet on her flubbing or forgetting a word—at 4-1 odds—left a little disappointed.
Menzel was joined on the pregame stage by singer-songwriter John Legend, who performed "America the Beautiful." Legend's performance was equally as flawless.
Unfortunately, without any prop bets for the occasion, no one paid their child's college tuition by correctly predicting his smooth delivery.
