Williams Suffers Hip Injury

Veteran guard Williams has been a key player for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season, but they were without him for their game Friday night.
According to Timberwolves PR on Twitter, the 12th-year veteran will not play against the Philadelphia 76ers due to hip soreness:
With Ricky Rubio on the shelf for much of the season, the 32-year-old Williams has stepped up as Minnesota's primary point guard. In addition to putting up 12.5 points per game, he is also averaging a team-high 6.4 assists per contest.
The T-Wolves are among the worst teams in the league this season, though, which is why Williams' name has popped up in trade discussions.
According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the belief across the league is that Williams can be had if the return is to Minnesota's liking:
Williams missing games doesn't have a huge impact on the Timberwolves since losing would actually behoove them in terms of vying for a better draft pick.
His health is significant as it relates to trade interest across the league, however.
There hasn't yet been any indication that Williams' ailment is something significant that will stick with him for a long period of time, so he should continue to be an attractive target on the trade market.
