Williams On Trade Block

Friday, Jan. 30

With the NBA trade deadline approaching on Feb. 19, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a decision to make about impending free agent Mo Williams.

According to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities, there are no shortage of teams looking at Williams in a potential deal:

ESPN's Marc Stein also noted that the Timberwolves' return for Williams will likely require a draft pick:

Williams is going to be a hot commodity this trade season, as teams won't have to give up much to get him and his price tag is small, since he's only signed for $3.75 million all year.

A team looking for depth in the backcourt would be wise to pursue Williams. He won't be the difference between making the playoffs and sitting at home after the regular season, but he does create versatility for any team he's on.
