Andrew Garda of NJ.com reports that the forecast for Piscataway, New Jersey, states that the area will be hit with 18 to 24 inches of snow prior to Tuesday's previously scheduled 9 p.m. ET tipoff time.
The circumstances will create a shorter turnaround for the Scarlet Knights when they have to travel to Bloomington on Saturday to take on Indiana. They need to leave Piscataway on Friday, which could prove difficult in the likely event of continued inclement weather.
Coach Eddie Jordan's Rutgers squad is on a four-game slide in conference play and is in need of a spark. Notching a win over a quality program like Michigan State would be a step in that direction.
This is a winnable contest for the favored Spartans, though, who have faced struggles of their own amid a 13-7 campaign. They are slated to return to East Lansing this coming Sunday to face the Michigan Wolverines.
