Daily Fantasy College Basketball 2015: DraftKings Lineup Advice for Jan. 26

R. Cory SmithJan 26, 2015

Monday night doesn't provide a slew of games to choose from, but there are still several players to choose from for college basketball lineups. Before the two games get underway, here's a look at an optimal DraftKings lineup and specific players to target.

G Trevor Cooney, Syracuse ($7,500)

With a limited slate of games, choosing the right lead guard can be a difficult decision. Luckily, Trevor Cooney has been playing out of his mind recently and comes at a lower price than Marcus Paige or Monte Morris.

Cooney didn't have a spectacular outing during his last road game at Clemson, but he will be looking for redemption in Chapel Hill. Against a defense that is more dominant inside, look for Cooney to get off some big shots outside for daily owners.

G Naz Long, Iowa State ($5,800)

Prior to tallying just five points against Texas Tech before fouling out, Naz Long was on a tear that saw him score in double digits in three consecutive games. On an Iowa State team that recently knocked off No. 9 Kansas and No. 14 West Virginia, Long will be a crucial component again.

Even after one underwhelming game for the junior, the Cyclones guard looks like a quality pickup for the price. Long's emergence has been key for ISU and will be for daily players moving forward.

F Brice Johnson, North Carolina ($7,600)

Very few players in the nation have been hotter than Brice Johnson, who has three double-doubles in his last five games for UNC. After dominating Florida State for 18 points and 14 rebounds, Johnson will serve as a zone-buster for the Tar Heels against Syracuse.

Theo Pinson, a reserve forward, is also out for the year with a broken foot. The Heels need more production from the starters, and they are certainly getting it from Johnson in ACC play.

UNC ranks second in the nation in rebounds at 43.5 per game, so choosing Johnson or Kennedy Meeks seems like a promising option. However, Johnson's recent play and his high energy on the court suggests he's the better choice between the two forwards.

F Jameel McKay, Iowa State ($5,900)

On a night where the options are limited, Jameel McKay looks like a solid contributor to target. At less than $6,000 for the salary, McKay is worthy of a pickup thanks to his production at home. During four Big 12 games in Ames, Iowa, McKay had over 10 points and over six rebounds three times.

Facing a talented Texas team won't faze him, especially after coming one point away from his first double-double this season the last time out. If he's given over 25 minutes like in the last two games, McKay will outperform his value on Monday night.

UTIL Javan Felix, Texas ($4,400)

This one might be a little more of a stretch, but Javan Felix will be looking to get out of his recent funk against Iowa State. Felix was held scoreless in his last outing, but he had 15 points in his prior road game at TCU.

Facing a Cyclones defense that surrenders 67.7 points per game, 216th in the country, Felix will get opportunities to bounce back. For owners who need a low-value utility option, look to Felix to get good production from this spot.
