Behind a terrific transition game and an offense with a response for everything, Iowa State defeated Kansas in a clash of two Big 12 titans. 

The Cyclones were able to exploit the Jayhawks in the first half through their transition game after made baskets. 

As the half progressed, Kansas struggled in the paint due to the foul trouble of Perry Ellis, who sat on the bench for the final 13 minutes of the half. 

After Iowa State took a three-point lead into the locker room, it burst out of the locker room on a 15-6 run. 

Kansas gained some momentum throughout the second half, but the Cyclones had an answer for every run by the visitors. 

The biggest momentum swing started with 9:23 to go in the game, as Jameel McKay slammed home a dunk to energize the crowd at Hilton Coliseum.

After McKay's burst of energy before the under-eight timeout, the Cyclones obtained a comfortable cushion.

Despite a few comeback attempts from the Jayhawks in the final minutes, the deficit was too big for Kansas to overcome. 

Six Cyclones finished in double digits with Naz Long leading the way with 20 points. Monte Morris recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists, while Georges Niang contributed 15 points. 

Before fouling out in the final minute, Perry Ellis recorded 19 points and 11 rebounds for Kansas, who dropped to 3-1 in the Big 12 with the loss.

Iowa State's win handed Kansas State the top spot in the Big 12 standings. No team in the conference is unbeaten in conference play after Saturday's action.
