According to Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears, the Cleveland Cavaliers have already shown interest in signing the 30-year-old point guard:
In 33 games with the Denver Nuggets this season, Robinson averaged just 5.8 points per contest with career-lows in minutes per game (14.1), field-goal percentage (34.8), three-point percentage (26.1) and true-shooting percentage (43.3), per basketball-reference.com.
Despite those struggles, he is someone who has proven several times in the past capable of scoring in bunches and providing instant offense from the pine. The Cavs, who are second-to-last in the NBA in bench scoring per game and haven't gotten much in the way of offense from backup point guard Matthew Dellavedova, could use Robinson's energy and athleticism.
Of course, while the thought of a second-unit backcourt featuring Nate Rob and J.R. Smith is undeniably compelling, Spears reports there are several other potential suitors:
Among those, the Los Angeles Clippers have been mentioned the most. Although the Clips just traded for Austin Rivers, as announced by the team, they are still candidates to add Robinson, who played with Doc Rivers in Boston, per ESPN's Arash Markazi:
Robinson has certainly struggled this season, but a new environment can often do wonders for a slumping player.
Ultimately, teams looking to add experience and scoring punch to their second unit aren't going to find many better free-agent options than the diminutive point guard, who should come quite cheaply.
