Jahlil Okafor, Willie Cauley-Stein Headline Wooden Award Midseason Top 25

Adam WellsJan 14, 2015

The Wooden Award, given annually to the most outstanding college basketball player, has unveiled the midseason Top 25 list. To no one's surprise, the list is comprised of names like Duke superstar freshman Jahlil Okafor and Kentucky big man Willie Cauley-Stein.

ESPN.com released the official list of 25 players, which can still have players added to it before the final group comes out on March 7, which has nine seniors, eight juniors, three sophomores and five freshman.

It's also not a surprise to see that Duke and Kentucky are the most represented teams on the list. The Blue Devils, despite two recent losses, look like one of the best groups Mike Krzyzewski has had in years. The Wildcats are loaded every year and could become the first team since Indiana in 1975-76 to go undefeated.

There's also a tremendous amount of future NBA talent on this list. Okafor could be the No. 1 pick if he comes out after this season, Arizona's Stanley Johnson is a rising star with his size and ability to shoot from distance.

ESPN's Jay Bilas had rave reviews for Okafor when going over tape of the star freshman earlier this season:

It's an impressive collection of talent with less than two months left to impress the voting body to determine who college basketball's best player really is.
