Scott Speaks on Hill's Injury
Tuesday, Jan. 13
Los Angeles Lakers big man Jordan Hill exited the floor late in Tuesday's 78-75 loss to the Miami Heat with an apparent right knee injury.
Head coach Byron Scott provided an update on Hill's status after the game at the Staples Center, via Mike Trudell of Lakers.com:
In an unprecedented full-time starting opportunity, Hill entered Tuesday's contest averaging career-high totals of 28.3 minutes, 12.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest. Losing Hill for any significant period of time would be a tough blow to Scott's squad.
L.A. is limited in terms of depth in the frontcourt, partially due to the fractured tibia rookie first-round pick Julius Randle suffered in the season opener. The former Kentucky college star was expected to be a prominent contributor.
Scott's first season coaching the team he spent most of his playing career with isn't going all that swimmingly. The latest potential reshuffling of the rotation doesn't promise to improve the Lakers' outlook, as they languish near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
