Bronco Passing Game: Boise State Will Be Better Than Their Fans Imagine

Lace BanachekAug 8, 2009

Bronco fans already know what the 6’3 Austin Pettis can do.

Austin made 49 catches last season and scoring nine times. With Childs, Perretta, and Hawkins gone Kellen Moore is not saying oh momma what am I gonna do.

He knows all to well what he’s gonna do.

Kellen knows that he has the sure handed Pettis, and the speedster Titus Young; who hauled in a sweet 50 yard TD over Kyle Wilson during today’s second practice session.

Rarely used last season due to all the talent was Tyler Shoemaker.

Tyler has good hands and descent speed. He runs routes effectively and should do quite well.

The tight ends for Boise State will do fine. Kyle Efaw 6’4, Tommy Gallarda 6’5, and Chandler Koch 6’3 will utilize their size accomplishing feats.

Gallarda is a great blocker and Efaw has a solid pair of hands. Chandler on the other hand is expected to do great things.

There is also Mitch Burroughs and Chris Potter, these two will see special teams kick returns, and of course fourth quarter play this 2009 season but they will contribute, both are plenty fast.

There has been a slight question to the loss of Ian Johnson from the backfield as he contributed to the passing game regularly and sufficiently. Last season he hauled in 22 passes.

However, lest the fans forget this seasons starting running back Jeremy Avery who was the Broncos second leading rusher and second on the team in all-purpose yards (over 1,000) hauled in 16 passes for 226 yards.

The Broncos are not losing a thing (only fond memories), but then they are gaining some new ones.

This season is set for new thrills. Kellen’s going deep and Titus, Pettis, and Shoe will take care of business there. Look for the tight ends and Avery to get in the action as well. This will be a big scoring season—Go Broncos
