TAMPA, FL - DECEMBER 21: Aaron Rodgers #12 of the Green Bay Packers signals to his offense during the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on December 21, 2014 in Tampa, Florida. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Many of the selections for this year's Pro Bowl were easy enough to predict.

Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 4,155 yards, 36 touchdowns and just five interceptions this season, leading the Green Bay Packers to an 11-4 record and potentially an NFC North title if they can beat the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Rodgers is the favorite to win the MVP award this season, so it's hardly surprising he would be in the Pro Bowl.

The player who might just give him a run for his money in that regard, however, is J.J. Watt. All he's done this year is register 72 tackles, 17.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, an interception, 10 pass deflections and five touchdowns. Yes, five.

And then there's this, from Chase Stuart of Football Perspective on Twitter:

Wow. Just wow.

DeMarco Murray has had an amazing season, so he was a logical choice for fans, coaches and the players. He leads the NFL with 1,745 rushing yards, 304 more yards than the runner-up, Le'Veon Bell (another player who completely deserves his Pro Bowl selection). Murray has added 395 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, making him one of the league's most dangerous weapons this season.

He's a huge reason why the Dallas Cowboys were able to win the NFC East this season as well, ending their playoff drought.

Meanwhile, Antonio Brown has been the league's top wide receiver. He leads the league in receptions (122), receiving yards (1,570), targets (168) and is tied for third in receiving touchdowns (12), trailing only Dez Bryant (14) and Jordy Nelson (13), two other players who more than earned their place in the Pro Bowl this year.

On the defensive side of the ball, Darrelle Revis doesn't have the notable statistics of some of the other players highlighted above, but he has been arguably the most dominant corner in football this year. Consider these numbers from Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald:

Not too shabby, eh?

Some of the above players might not feature in the Pro Bowl considering their teams could reach the Super Bowl. But given some of the amazing seasons had in the NFL this year, the Pro Bowl should be a lot of fun. With stars on both sides of ball, the NFL's Super Bowl appetizer should keep the fans plenty entertained.
