A Trade the Minnesota Vikings Need to Make with the Cleveland Browns

The Minnesota Vikings are in a win-now mode, but they have a few hurdles to overcome early on in the season, including the the suspension of the Williams Wall.

And of course they need a QB for the West Coast Offense.

So what do the Cleveland Browns have that the Vikings would want:

1. QB Brady Quinn

2. OL Eric Steinbach

3. DL Shaun Smith and Corey Williams.

4. FB Charles Ali

Not only is Brady Quinn the best fit for the WCO, he's the perfect fit for the dome, where weather won't affect his less-than-"gunslinger" arm.

Eric Steinbach is done as LG in Cleveland if Joe Thomas' hints are to be believed. However, Steinbach can play anywhere on the line, and I wouldn't be surprised if Alex Mack starts at OG as a rookie, behind OC Fraley and even Steinbach. The Vikings do need a OC or can even slide Steinbach out to LT for better pass protection.

It looks like the Williamses, Pat and Kevin, will get slugged with the four-game suspension as various sports line up to lobby the judge to sanction the NFL ban. Corey Williams is not suited to the 3-4 defenses, and Shaun Smith is all talk, although he's said to have slimmed down to 315 pounds and be blowing up Mack in training camp.

So what can the Vikings offer the Browns?

1. Chester Taylor

2. Draft picks in a talent-rich 2010 draft

Jamal Lewis is practicing for "Dancing with the Stars" at the line of scrimmage, but Chester Taylor can still carry the rock. The Vikes can take FB Charles Ali to block for Adrian Peterson.

It's going to cost the Vikes many a good draft pick; are they willing to do a "Hershel Walker"-esque deal? They will get better value for their "sacrificed" draft picks.

The Vikings are poised for greatness, minus a franchise QB. They will get proven players at the expense of youth and rebuilding on the run with a star running back.
