Arian Foster Reaches 1,000 Rushing Yards for 4th Time

Bleacher Report MilestonesDec 9, 2014

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster went over 1,000 rushing yards in a season for the fourth time in his career during Sunday's 27-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Foster entered the contest with 901 rushing yards, needing 99 to become the fifth player this season to reach 1,000. If there was any doubt that he'd get there, it was erased when Foster broke off a season-long, 51-yard run in the first quarter.

The 28-year-old former Tennessee Volunteer eventually finished with 127 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, giving him 1,026 rushing yards for the season.

He hit the 1,000-yard mark in the third quarter, just a few hours before Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch became the season's sixth 1,000-yard rusher.

Despite missing three games because of injuries thus far, Foster is the NFL's sixth-leading rusher at the conclusion of Week 14, trailing only DeMarco Murray (1,606), Le'Veon Bell (1,231), Justin Forsett (1,080), LeSean McCoy (1,068) and Lynch (1,042).

Foster's 102.6 rushing yards per game are second to only Murray's 123.5, as none of the other 1,000-yard rushers has missed a game this season.

Additionally, Foster is now responsible for four of the seven 1,000-yard rushing seasons in Texans history, with Domanick Williams (2003 and 2004) and Steve Slaton (2008) accounting for the other three.
