Robert Griffin III's Updated Fantasy Value After Colt McCoy's Injury
No matter how hard Washington tries keeping Robert Griffin III off the field, its effort appears futile. The maligned franchise quarterback entered late in Sunday's 24-0 Week 14 loss to the St. Louis Rams after starter Colt McCoy was knocked out of the game with a neck strain.
Griffin completed three of his four passes for 33 yards, capping off a game in which the Washington offense again appeared discombobulated. McCoy threw for 199 yards and two interceptions before exiting, going down six times for a sack and being consistently blasted in the pocket.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Washington finished the game with only 206 yards of total offense. It's now lost five straight games and become a craven death pit where good players' value goes to wither away.

Griffin would be in line to start if McCoy sits, but the third-year quarterback has shown nothing to give anyone faith he'll ever match his brilliant rookie season. In addition, Jay Gruden's offensive system seems perfectly designed to suffocate Griffin's creativity. Read-option elements are almost nonexistent, and Gruden's public quotes show little faith that the two can coexist long-term.
That goes without mentioning all the anonymous barbs that have been sent Griffin's way dating back to last season. The situation in Washington is toxic, and it creates nothing of substance for fantasy owners. DeSean Jackson will occasionally break free for a bomb down the field and Alfred Morris occasionally reminds folks he's OK at football, but this is not a team to be trusted.
If you're at the point in your fantasy season where you're considering picking Griffin up, it might be time to cash in your chips and start building for next year. It ain't happening.
