Raptors' Kyle Lowry Scores Career-High 39 Points Against Jazz
Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry scored a career-high 39 points in Wednesday's 123-104 win over the Utah Jazz, marking his fourth consecutive game with 25 or more points, per NBA.com Stats.
His previous career-best point total came back on Feb. 16, 2011, when he dropped 36 for the Houston Rockets in a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, per Basketball-Reference.com's play index.
The four-game streak of 25-point performances is also a personal best for Lowry, who previously had just one three-game streak with 25 or more points, which occurred in April for the Raptors, also per Basketball-Reference.com's play index.
The recent hot streak is no coincidence, as it started last Friday against the Dallas Mavericks in the same game that fellow Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan suffered a torn left adductor longus tendon in his leg.
With Toronto missing half of its potent backcourt duo, Lowry has unsurprisingly taken on an increased role in the offense, averaging 30 points and 7.5 assists over the recent four-game stretch.
He has also benefited from a favorable schedule, with Friday's game against the Mavericks followed by contests against the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz.
Extending the streak to five games may be a more difficult task, as the Raptors face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night in Toronto.
