Week 14 Waiver Wire: Early Pickups and Breakout Fantasy Football Candidates
Johnny Football's time may have come. The Cleveland Browns turned to Johnny Manziel to replace an ineffective Brian Hoyer on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. The Browns still lost the game 26-10, but Manziel showed flashes of being a productive fantasy quarterback. SportsCenter seems to believe we could be seeing more of Manziel.
In all, he completed five of eight passes for 63 yards, and he scored his first ever touchdown on a 10-yard run. Coming into Sunday's game, Manziel was only owned in 9 percent of fantasy leagues on CBSSports.com.

Report: Rodgers Gets 'Rare' Tender

Re-Drafting the Last 5 Rookie Classes 🤯
Browns head coach Mike Pettine was non-committal on the team's QB situation in Week 14 against the Indianapolis Colts. Per Marty Gitlin of CBSSports.com, Pettine said: "We're not going to overreact. We'll look at the tape and make a decision. I'm not going to put it all on Brian. ... It's a body-of-work decision."
Snagging Manziel for your fantasy squad might be a slight gamble right now, but if you're facing a desperate situation at quarterback, Johnny Football might be the one to save you.
His ability to produce fantasy points through the air and on the ground makes him potentially valuable. Here are three other players fantasy owners should have their eyes on heading into Week 14.
Marqise Lee

Has the light come on for Marqise Lee? It seemed like it in Sunday's 25-24 win over the New York Giants.
Lee also scored his first career touchdown as the Jacksonville Jaguars came back from a 21-point deficit to knock off the Giants. Lee had a career-best 75 yards receiving in the game. He tied his best effort in receptions with six.
The plan has always been for Lee and rookie quarterback Blake Bortles to gain chemistry and to become a formidable duo. We certainly saw hints of that on Sunday. Like Manziel, Lee is only 9 percent owned in CBSSports.com leagues.
His 30-yard touchdown reception showed off a bit of his big-play ability. Because he was targeted eight times, Lee seems to be a safe bet to remain a focal point in the team's offense next week against the Houston Texans.
Daniel Herron

About 67 percent of fantasy owners had Daniel Herron on their teams. After Sunday's performance, that number might be on the rise. On just eight carries, Herron had 88 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Because of the lack of productivity the Colts have received from Trent Richardson, you'd think the team would look to Herron a little more next week against the Cleveland Browns.
On the season, the second-year back is averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Herron is only being started in 34 percent of the leagues he's in. This might be a good time to move him into your starting lineup. Herron is an Ohio native heading back to the state where he also played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Did I also mention that the Browns came into Week 13 as the 29th-ranked team against the run?
Plug Herron in as a flex option, and you might have the gem of the weekend.
Donte Moncrief

Apparently fantasy owners aren't believers in Donte Moncrief just yet. He is only owned in 8 percent of CBSSports.com fantasy leagues. The 6'2" rookie out of Mississippi had his second 100-yard receiving game on Sunday against Washington.
Moncrief needed just three receptions to tally 134 yards and two touchdowns.
The yardage and touchdowns marked a career high for the 21-year-old. Moncrief's combination of size and speed has made him a tough cover down the field for his opponents. With Moncrief producing more productive games than 36-year-old Reggie Wayne in each of the last two games, we may be looking at a changing of the guard.
| Receptions | 7 | 7 |
| Yards | 172 | 41 |
| TDs | 2 | 0 |
| Targets | 8 | 14 |
Moncrief and T.Y. Hilton look like the two biggest recipients of Andrew Luck's throws. Fantasy owners would be wise to pounce on Moncrief while they have a chance.
