Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports had the report:
Although he missed some time in November with a sprained ankle, Hibbert has typically been one of the most durable players—let alone 7-footers—in the NBA. In the previous five seasons, he missed just seven total games.
As long as this injury isn't serious, there's little doubt he'll make a speedy return.
After a nightmarish 2014 postseason, Hibbert has bounced back nicely this season. Not only has he been a solid double-double threat most nights, but he also has protected the rim at an elite level, averaging 1.8 blocks and ranking among the leaders in opponent field-goal percentage at the rim.
"He really lost sight of what worked and what didn't work," said tutor Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, via The Indianapolis Star's Candace Buckner. "Things just seemed to fall apart, but that's behind us."
Should the 28-year-old be forced to miss time, Ian Mahinmi will likely step into the starting lineup, and Lavoy Allen will see an uptick in minutes off the bench.
