Boozer Out vs. 76ers
Monday, March 30
According to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times, the former Duke standout is dealing with an upper-respiratory infection that will keep him out of action tonight against the 76ers.
Boozer had missed the previous four games due to injury but is now dealing with an illness. On the season, he is averaging 12.2 points, seven rebounds and 1.4 assists in 24.5 minutes of action a night.
The Lakers brought in the 33-year-old Boozer this past offseason after missing out on some high-profile free agents. The organization hoped that he would be a reliable second option behind superstar guard Kobe Bryant, but he hasn't lived up to expectations.
Even though this season has been far from a great one for Boozer, he still has the ability to turn in some strong performances when he asserts himself offensively. Regardless of his struggles, one can only assume that the Lakers will miss his presence for as long as he's absent.
