LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles' Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 12

Timothy RappNov 23, 2014

That groan you heard coming from the East Coast and rippling around the country in the first quarter between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans was Darren Sproles vulturing a first-half touchdown away from LeSean McCoy.

The sigh of relief you heard in the second quarter was Shady getting into the end zone himself.

McCoy has had no problem racking up the yardage this season—and once again had plenty of yards on Sunday, going for over 100 in the first half alone—but reaching the end zone has been a different story entirely. Coming into Week 12, he had just two touchdowns, a far cry from the 11 he scored last season.

The lack of touchdown production has really kept Shady from being a trusty RB1 for much of this season, though that obviously wasn't the case on Sunday. He keeps accumulating yardage, so you can absolutely trust him as an RB2, but until the touchdowns start coming more consistently, he's really only an RB1 depending on the matchup.

Sunday was a nice sign for fantasy owners, though, that much is for certain.

As for Sproles, well, he's really hit or miss. He simply doesn't get enough touches to be trusted as a weekly starter, leaving him best served as a flex consideration for your team depending on the matchups. Sproles is always a threat to take the ball to the house, but trying to predict when that will happen is tricky, making him less than trustworthy.

Hit me up on Twitter—I'll answer your fantasy questions and make some corny jokes, too. It's more fun than imagining what Mike Evans will do for an encore after his monstrous rookie season.
