NFL Schedule Week 11: TV Coverage Map, Start Times and Live Stream Info

Sean ODonnellNov 16, 2014

As we continue into the back half of the 2014 NFL season, most contests will have some sort of playoff implications. That was the case when Week 11 kicked off with a clash between the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football.

Miami defeated Buffalo and now finds itself at 6-4 on the year and in the hunt for a playoff berth. Unfortunately for the Bills, dropping to 5-5 gives them an uphill climb for the remainder of the season. We can expect many more of these scenarios throughout the remaining 13 games this week.

Whether you're more inclined to watch a defensive struggle or aerial shootout, Sunday's slate of contests has something for everyone. Early in the day, we can expect a low-scoring affair between the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs. At night, we should see some offensive fireworks when the New England Patriots meet the Indianapolis Colts.

Game of the Week

Seattle Seahawks at Kansas City Chiefs

With so many alluring contests taking place in Week 11, it's tough to pick just one to feature. What puts this one above the rest is the potential ripple effect its conclusion can send throughout both the AFC and the NFC.

The Chiefs are currently in a great position to claim a wild-card berth in the AFC. A win allows them to maintain that standing; however, a loss sends them right back into the pack. With the Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers holding similar records, the playoff picture would only get cloudier.

The Seahawks are in a similar battle in the NFC. Four teams already have at least seven wins heading into Week 11, making playoff spots limited for six-win teams like Seattle. The Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers are in contention here, and one of these teams will be left on the outside looking in.

Adding to the excitement, Andrew Siciliano of the NFL Network tweeted that the playoff brackets are already out:

Seattle's bread and butter is its ability to control games with its stout defense and solid running game. Perhaps the best example of that came in Week 10 against the New York Giants. During the Seahawks' 38-17 victory, the team ran the ball a total of 45 times and dominated the time of possession.

Kansas City is also a run-heavy team, ranking fifth in the league in rushing yards. While the Chiefs aren't a prolific passing team, quarterback Alex Smith is certainly efficient. He finds himself in some nice company, via a tweet from NFL on ESPN:

However, it does have a glaring weakness in the trenches on defense. The Chiefs rank 20th against the run, and that could prove to be costly against the likes of Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch.

The Seahawks listed Lynch as questionable prior to Sunday, but the team's official Twitter account alludes to the running back suiting up in Kansas City:

Still, Kansas City could force Seattle out of its comfort zone by stacking the box and leaving its cornerbacks on islands on the outside. The Chiefs have enough talent in the secondary to get that done, as they enter the game ranked first in the league against the pass.

One deciding factor in this game will be turnovers. Neither of these teams have ball-security issues. Kansas City has only turned the ball over eight times this year, and Seattle has a total of nine giveaways.

These teams match up very well against each other, and both enter Week 11 on winning streaks. Expect a bitter fight to the end, with a last-second field goal deciding the winner in this one. The nod here goes to the home team.

Prediction: Chiefs 23, Seahawks 20
