Roethlisberger Sets 2-Game Record with 12 Passing Touchdowns
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger earned an impressive record during Sunday's 43-23 romp over the Baltimore Ravens, becoming the first player in NFL history to throw 12 touchdown passes over a span of two games, per ESPN's Jamison Hensley.
One week after lighting the Indianapolis Colts up for a franchise-record 522 passing yards and six touchdowns, Roethlisberger added another six touchdown passes against his longtime rival, albeit with a somewhat more modest 340 passing yards.
He completed 25 of his 37 pass attempts (67.6 percent) in the crucial victory, just one week removed from completing 40 of his 49 attempts (81.6 percent) against the Colts. Roethlisberger now has 22 passing touchdowns on the season despite throwing for just 10 in his first seven games.

His impressive two-game run included touchdown passes to six different receivers, with Martavis Bryant accounting for four, Antonio Bryant for three and Markus Wheaton for two. Running back Le'Veon Bell and tight ends Heath Miller and Matt Spaeth were each responsible for a touchdown.
In addition to setting the two-game record, Roethlisberger is just the second quarterback to ever record multiple six-touchdown games in the same season, joining the legendary Y.A. Tittle, who accomplished the impressive feat as a member of the New York Giants in 1962, per Bill Smith of NFL Network. Tittle, however, did not record his six-touchdown outings in consecutive games.
Per ESPN's Stats & Info blog, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is the only player with more than two six-touchdown games in an entire career, and Manning only has three.
To further put Big Ben's ridiculous streak into perspective, there have only been four instances of a quarterback recording even five or more touchdowns in consecutive games, with Tom Brady in 2007 the most recent to accomplish said feat until Roethlisberger, per Pro-Football-Reference.com.
