Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis' Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 8
More than a few folks out there are probably wondering if holding onto Knile Davis on their fantasy bench is worth it. After all, he's clearly been an afterthought in Kansas City's offense since Jamaal Charles returned from injury.
Early in Sunday's game, little had changed. Charles was dominating the touches and finished the afternoon with another productive game for fantasy owners. But then Davis returned a kick for a score to open the second half. And he scored a touchdown in garbage time, too. And when it was all said and done, he had himself a deceptive but strong afternoon in fantasy.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
| Jamaal Charles | 13 | 73 | 4 | 44 | 2 | 23 |

Davis is a tricky player to evaluate because he's arguably the most valuable handcuff in fantasy football but he has essentially no value at all while Charles is healthy. Sunday was the exception, as his fantasy value was completely tied to a kick return and garbage-time work. And if you've seen the Chiefs in action on offense, you know they won't generally blow teams out.
If you have a strong team, I'd recommend holding onto him. But if your team is struggling, you probably can't afford to use the roster spot on a handcuff.
Charles, on the other hand, remains a strong RB1. He now has at least seven fantasy points in his last four games, and his upside is always gigantic given his ability to break off long scoring plays. In Kansas City, the pecking order in the backfield is pretty clear, and Charles rules atop it, despite Davis' big fantasy showing on Sunday.
