Biggest Questions Surrounding 2026 NFL Season After the Draft 🤔
Angerer spent his four seasons with the Colts after being a second-round pick by the team in 2010. In 54 games, he finished with 327 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two interceptions. His best season came in 2011, when he finished with 148 tackles.
Injuries derailed him in recent years, however. He twice had to have surgery on his foot and missed the last five games of the 2013 season with a knee injury.
He was cut by the Atlanta Falcons in late August and has since had several tryouts for teams, including the Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams and New York Jets, but he couldn't catch on with a squad this season.
That was apparently the last straw for Angerer, who also had an excellent college career at Iowa. Between his injury history and his recent inability to stick with a team, Angerer's decision was surely a difficult one but perhaps in the end the correct one.
