Zach Ertz, Brent Celek's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 6
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zac Ertz is finally back on the fantasy football TE1 radar after a strong showing against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.
After four games under 10 points, the developing tight end broke out for double-digit production Sunday against a Giants defense that entered the contest surrendering the second-fewest points to tight ends.
It must have been something in the water, because veteran Brent Celek also got in on the action with his first output of more than a single point in a game this season:

Re-Drafting the Last 5 Rookie Classes 🤯
| Z. Ertz | 3 | 47 | 15.7 | 1 | 5 | 10 |
| B. Celek | 4 | 45 | 11.3 | 0 | 5 | 4 |
That is not meant to discredit Ertz, though, who has struggled to secure consistent playing time due to issues as a blocker, something Celek spends a large portion of his time doing.
As Nathan Jahnke of Pro Football Focus points out, it is important to keep things in perspective, though:
So Ertz did not see a bump in playing time, he just did more with his limited opportunities. Against a strong defense at that, which muddies his outlook quite a bit moving forward.
The good news is that tight end continues to be a somewhat strong part of coach Chip Kelly's attack, as Ertz has now seen a minimum of five targets in four of his six games this season. Celek has reached that mark just once (Sunday night) and had a three-game stretch with no targets whatsoever.
With Ertz, owners need to play the waiting game. He is a TE1 regardless of matchup due to the nature of the position, but it is important to point out that he has a brutal upcoming stretch:
| 7 | BYE | |
| 8 | @Ari | 27 (11.3) |
| 9 | @Hou | 4-T (4.6) |
| 10 | Car | 4-T (4.6) |
| 11 | @GB | 4-T (4.6) |
| 12 | Ten | 23 (8.6) |
| 13 | @Dal | 32 (14.0) |
| 14 | Sea | 29 (11.5) |
| 15 | Dal | 32 (14.0) |
| 16 | @Wsh | 26 (10.0) |
| 17 | @NYG | 2 (3.8) |
Weather that storm though, and things should get quite lucrative for owners beginning in Week 12 and right on through the fantasy playoff stretch.
Ertz is the perfect pickup—he is owned in just 47.1 percent of leagues—and stash for down the line, but now is the time to get him with the general public suddenly introduced to his potential on prime time. He is sure to have a few key strong performances down the line, if not sooner considering he did so well against a strongly ranked Giants unit.
While Celek remains completely off the radar, Ertz may wind up being the week's biggest jumper in terms of ownership percentage. Do not miss out.
