Darren Sproles, Chris Polk's Updated Fantasy Outlook After LeSean McCoy's Injury
The entire city of Philadelphia held its collective breath early in the contest between the beloved Eagles and Washington, as LeSean McCoy had to leave the game due to an apparent head injury.
Fantasy owners were left scrambling wondering what any long-term injury might mean for their rosters. Thankfully, they didn't have to wonder for too long.
Jeff Darlington of NFL Network confirmed McCoy was available to return after being evaluated for a head injury:

The official Washington Twitter account first announced the injury:
Reuben Frank of CSN Philly quickly added that McCoy wanted to return to the game before additional tests were done:
McCoy wanting to return was a good sign for the star running back. Even though the star amassed just 22 yards on 20 carries, there's no reason for his owners to panic after one underwhelming performance.
In his absence, however, Darren Sproles immediately filled in, with two carries for 20 yards and three receptions for 30 yards on four targets.
It was a sign that Sproles could become an RB1 option for fantasy owners (yes, even despite his fumble in the second quarter), if McCoy is ever forced to miss time in the future.
Chris Polk would be in line for far more touches and thereby would become an intriguing flex option depending on the opponent.
You could make a pretty strong argument that, given his role in the explosive Eagles offense, that Sproles was already a borderline RB1 option. If McCoy were to miss time, the "borderline" qualifier would disappear.
Polk, to his credit, had already made his mark on the game with a first-quarter kick-return touchdown. But his value from a fantasy perspective in the absence of McCoy would certainly be due to his role in a running-back-by-committee situation with Sproles—Polk would likely be utilized between the tackles more than Sproles—not on special teams.
For McCoy fantasy owners, they don't have to make adjustments just yet.
