Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton, Hakeem Nicks' Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 1
The Indianapolis Colts are loaded at wide receiver with the likes of Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and Hakeem Nicks in the fold. All three know what it's like to be a quarterback's No. 1 target, although that didn't help the Colts keep up with the Denver Broncos in Week 1. These are three players who will constantly jockey for top position in the offense and will be important for fantasy football owners to track as the season progresses.
ESPN's Christopher Harris ranked Hilton, Wayne and Nicks 20th, 31st and 40th, respectively, on his list of top receivers in 2014.
The Colts saw very little of the ball in the first half, which made it extremely tough for quarterback Andrew Luck to get into a rhythm with his receiving triumvirate. Peyton Manning is a master at extending drives, which meant plenty of time on the sidelines for Wayne, Hilton and company.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Hilton and Nicks suffered the most, notching just two catches apiece by the time the fourth quarter rolled around. Wayne looked good on Sunday night, reeling in nine catches for 98 yards. After an injury-riddled 2013 campaign, the 35-year-old wideout could surprise some folks.

Then again, the Colts were forced to throw the ball quite often in the second half, so one could argue the dearth of opportunities in the first half was balanced out by the need to catch up later on.

It's too early to say that the aging Wayne is going to be Luck's favorite target, but his dependability does make him a great flex player in most leagues. Hilton's speed ensures he will find ways to carve up secondaries from here on out and should still end up the team's leader in receiving yards by season's end. It's a slow start, but another 1,000-yard season isn't outside the realm of possibility, even with the talented pass-catchers lining up alongside him.
If anyone is to suffer from a lack of targets, it's Nicks. However, his size still makes him a viable red zone threat and he was able to reel in a nine-yard touchdown catch late in the game. The wet-blanket start for this trio of receivers is mostly a result of the Broncos looking like a surefire Super Bowl contender yet again in 2014. Luck won't leave these guys hanging in Week 2.
