Minnesota Timberwolves: If Ricky Rubio Walks, I'm Just As Happy With Jonny Flynn

I've known about Jonny Flynn for quite some time now, and I was always intrigued with him. It's only until my last two days of deep research on him, that I've now realized why the Timberwolves took Jonny.

In plain retrospective, Jonny Flynn is amazing. You cannot look at his 6'0'' stature, for the fact that he has the same heart size as the statue of liberty.

For a guy that averages over 17 points in college, he also chips in six assists. For a guy that get's a steal on the fastbreak, he throws in a windmill with ease.

Just watching him at Syracuse, it would be really stupid to pass up Flynn, and I know I might get heat for this, but his potential level could be equivalent to a more athletic, slightly less basketball I.Q'ed Chris Paul.

One thing I notice about Jonny is that, he plain out knows how to play and he knows how to run a team, a true leader. He does not need to learn fundamentals, and he does not need to learn how to score. Jonny Flynn can very well score, very wel l... and I mean that.

One thing the Timberwolves have never had in a point guard, is a guy that can run the team with a leadership and smile, and really make you feel good about playing with him.

When grown men say that "he's just a good positive kid," it feels almost ironic to be saying that about a guy, that is two years older than me. But truly, that's what he is. He almost has the feel, to the point where you could be losing by 50 points, and he'll say "Everything is going to be alright," and you'd believe him.

But please do not believe that he is soft, because he's probably the toughest point guard in the draft. He played for 67 minutes in a game against UConn, and had 34 points and 11 assists on 40 percent shooting from the field, and 100 percent from the free throw line. He also added six steals and one block.

There are many rumors around the web, and there are speculations and all things of that nature that are surrounding Ricky Rubio.

But I have to say that after my past two days really watching Flynn, and reading about him, if Rubio stays in Spain or get's traded, I wouldn't mind letting Flynn have the starting spot.
