Women's Tournament 2014: Schedule and Bracket Predictions for Subregionals Day 3
The NCAA women's tournament is already through its first two days. The upset bug hasn't bitten nearly as many of the women's teams as it has the men's.
A few of the normal early blowouts have taken place, but the first two days of action have also featured some close games. On Sunday, North Carolina just edged UT Martin 60-58 and Penn State rallied to hold off an upset-minded Wichita State Shockers team.
Hopefully Day 3 brings about a few more close contests.

Notre Dame Will Continue to Roll

The Lady Fighting Irish are 33-0 and look dominant heading into Monday's matchup with Arizona State.
When asked what her game plan was to topple Notre Dame, Sun Devils head coach Charli Turner Thorne said this, per ESPN.com:
"We're thinking of shooting about 80 percent. We feel like that will do it."
That was clearly a joke, but that might be what it'll take to beat Notre Dame. Jewell Loyd leads an uber-talented bunch from South Bend.
The Sun Devils lack the overall athleticism to keep pace. Coming into the tournament, Arizona State had lost three straight games. It was the second such losing streak of the season for the Sun Devils.
Look for Loyd to lead Notre Dame to an early lead and this one to be over by halftime.
Baylor Will Handle California
The Bears have had an excellent season.
At 30-4, the team readies for a challenge from Cal on Monday. Cal was another team that backed into the NCAA tournament.
It had lost two in a row before barely inching passed Fordham in the first round.
There's almost no chance they get by Baylor.
The Bears are 18-2 and come in averaging 84 points per game. This team is on a mission to make amends for its disappointing loss in the Sweet 16 last season with Brittney Griner.
Cal doesn't have the goods necessary to throw Baylor off track.
BYU is in Prime Position to Upset Nebraska

At least one upset has to happen per day, right?
This tilt between the Cougars and Cornhuskers is my pick for Monday. The Cougars' Jennifer Hamson is as dominant a force as there is in women's college basketball.
The 6'7" center averages 18.1 points, grabs 11.4 rebounds and has swatted 137 shots this season. she's the type of player entire defenses must game plan to control. She was too much for N.C. State in the first round as this tweet and stat line from BYU Women's Hoops indicates:
Jared Lloyd of the Utah Valley Daily Herald notes Hamson's controlled aggression:
Nebraska lacks the size to handle her.
The Cornhuskers will need to be on target from deep, or find a way to get Hamson in foul trouble, to even the playing field.
Bet on Hamson having a huge day and leading BYU to one of the biggest upsets of the tournament.
Follow me. I'm addicted to hoops.
