New Auburn Coach Bruce Pearl Wastes No Time Showing School Spirit

Kyle NewportMar 18, 2014

Bruce Pearl is returning to college basketball, and the new Auburn coach wasted no time showing off his school spirit.

On Tuesday, ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman reported that the Tigers hired Pearl as their new coach—the same day the 54-year-old introduced himself to Auburn fans.

Check out the scene of Pearl getting off the plane:

Pearl is no stranger to letting loose to support his university, and he showed that once again by getting involved in a mosh pit:

It's safe to say he was the man of the hour:

Auburn fans have every right to be excited. Pearl led Milwaukee to two NCAA tournaments in three seasons, and then he led the Tennessee Volunteers to six straight NCAA tournaments from 2006 to 2011. He has been working for ESPN the past few years, but he knows how to coach. Pearl was fired from Tennessee in 2011.

The Tigers went 14-16 this season, and they haven't been to the Big Dance since 2003. Pearl is familiar with the SEC, so fans are ready for a new era to begin.
