Kentucky Fans Need to Smell What The Coach Is Cookin'!

Chuck NealJun 7, 2009

"What happens in Memphis, Stays in Memphis, LOL. Go Big Blue!"

Yes, Calipari went so far as to put "LOL" on the end of yet another lame Twitter post.  I'll save you the time and advise you to not bother searching for this comment as it has already disappeared from the Savior's techno-nugget of wisdom page.

As I read Kentucky message boards, blogs, and even articles from Bleacher Report, I can only come to one conclusion; Kentucky fans have traded in the moonshine (and their common sense) for their own special flavor of blue Kool-Aid.

Ahh...refreshing...but what's that strange aftertaste?

It is a known fact that Calipari is a complete control freak, so to think he had no knowledge of anything questionable going on with recruits or the program is just naive.  Has Kentucky basketball fallen so far into the oblivion that the majority of fans will just ignore the signs? It was a little easier for Memphis fans to do it. They only had to defend one vacated Final Four; Kentucky may have to defend two and then probably their own. That's just ridiculous.

Here's a quick lesson on the Italian Scallion:

There are some words that do not go together with Calipari, such as integrity, loyalty, and honesty. Yet, you'll hear these words thrown around like dollar bills at the Plush Club when talking to Kentucky fans. You want to believe Josh Pastner lied to Will Barton?

How did Calipari not lie to Eric Bledsoe when he promised him a starting gig? I guess John Wall will just have to understand because JC's word is like an oak tree; in the end, Eric will ride the pine at Kentucky because Calipari wanted to prove a point to Pastner and did it out of spite. Eric will most likely transfer after his sophomore season. His reason will be due to lack of playing time.

Cal's reason will be because he didn't "work hard enough" or "he didn't own his performance." Hard to do when you get over-recruited every year. The general consensus is El Paso will be his final destination.

Hmm, wonder why? It can't be for the tamales, can it?

Josh Pastner did not lie to Will Barton.  Everything that has happened at Memphis over the last nine years can be traced back to John Calipari. Want proof? Look at the list of secondary violations that came out of the June 6th infractions committee.

John Calipari this...John Calipari that. Oh yeah, John's an angel.

Despite the reports coming out of Lexington that John Calipari can walk on water, I will offer up two things he can't do: Tell the truth and call a timeout. Both are going to bite Kentucky in the end.

The question is...which will hurt worse? If Kentucky fans' current view on the situation is any indication, it appears the missed timeout will hurt more....and that's just sad.

But I guess what happens in Lexington will stay in Lexington....when Cal moves on to the bright lights of New York. Drink up!
