Michael Qualls Video: Watch Razorbacks Guard's Last-Second Dunk to Beat Kentucky

Tim KeeneyJan 14, 2014

Michael Qualls' legs did it again.ย

In one of the wildest endings to any game in any sport you'll ever see, the University of Arkansas sophomore threw down a tip-jam with 0.2 seconds remaining of overtime to propel the Razorbacks to a scintillating 87-85 win over No. 13 Kentucky at Bud Walton Arena on Tuesday night.ย

You can see the walk-off dunk in the video above.ย

We're only 14 days into the new year, but this is a solid candidate for Game of 2014.ย

In a back-and-forth affair, neither team stretched the lead to more than three points in the final 10 minutes of regulation, and when it looked like Arkansas was set for the upset, Kentucky's Andrew Harrison buried a clutch corner three to send the game to overtime.ย

After Kentucky's James Young drilled another back-breaking trey with 12 seconds remaining in OT to erase another Arkansas lead, it was hard to imagine the Razorbacks recovering.

But as Rashad Madden's desperation three went awry, Qualls pulled out his invisible trampoline, snuck past Harrison, who forgot about boxing outโ€”what a roller-coaster ride for himโ€”and threw down the two-handed slam right as time expired to send the home crowd into a frenzy.ย

The referees went to the replay and put 0.2 seconds back on the clock, only for Kentucky'sย ensuing full-court pass to go into the scoreboard, sealing the Razorbacks' win.ย

I would say Qualls will never have a dunk like this again in his life, but that might not be the safest of bets. As you might remember, the explosive 6'6" guard has made headlines before with his above-the-rim ability, most notably inย November when he threw down a breath-taking slam against SIU-Edwardsville.ย
