NFL Week 2 Picks: Teams That Will Have Hard Time Covering Line
The opening week of the 2013 NFL season saw many teams fail to cover the spread, and the Kansas City Chiefs are one of the teams that will struggle to cover the line in Week 2.
After one week, the standings are a mess. There were a few surprises last week, so this week will help separate some of the contenders from the pretenders.
A few teams with small spreads will be upset at home this week, while a team like the Chiefs will have a tough time covering a big line.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Here is the schedule for Week 2 followed by a list of teams that will have a hard time covering the spread. All lines are courtesy of Bovada at 10 a.m. on Sept. 12.
Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts (-3)
The Miami Dolphins looked sloppy on offense against the Cleveland Browns, and the Indianapolis Colts managed to get past the Oakland Raiders.
Miami ran for only 20 yards on 23 carries, so there is a lot the team needs to improve on if it is going to contend this season. New acquisition Mike Wallace had 15 yards on only one reception. Even with an unproductive running game and a quiet Wallace, the Dolphins still managed to win on the road.
Indianapolis did what it did all last season: win narrowly. A four-point victory at home over Oakland isn't a great sign as a more talented Miami squad will come into town this week.
The Dolphins have a good defense, led by Cameron Wake. Miami picked off Brandon Weeden in the first half of last game and kept the game close until the offense was able to step up. Brian Hartline had 114 receiving yards with a touchdown, and Brandon Gibson had seven receptions for 77 yards.
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill was able to get a couple of receivers involved while his star target was unable to get anything going. This week's game plan should involve Wallace more, and the Dolphins will find a way to upset the Colts.
Dallas Cowboys at Kansas City Chiefs (-3)
Sure the Kansas City Chiefs looked dominant against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It would have been a bad sign had they struggled in Jacksonville.
The Dallas Cowboys got six turnovers but only beat the New York Giants by five points. They had plenty of chances to put the game away and were unable to do so. It's concerning that they allowed the Giants to hang around, but they managed to beat a quality opponent.
Quarterback Tony Romo threw for 263 yards and a touchdown, and DeMarco Murray ran for 86 yards and a score. Miles Austin and Jason Witten each had at least 70 receiving yards, which helped overcome a quiet day out of Dez Bryant. The star receiver had only 22 yards on four receptions.
It's unlikely that he is going to be shut down for in back-to-back weeks, and the Cowboys have other playmakers who can help move the football when Bryant is covered.
One team beat up on a lesser opponent, and the other won a tough division game. Dallas looked good on offense against the Giants, and the defense was able to create turnovers. Look for the Cowboys to pull off the upset in Kansas City.
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (-3)
The Seahawks are one of the favorites to come out of the NFC to go to the Super Bowl, but they will be hosting arguably the best team in the conference.
Although they went 8-0 in Seattle in 2012, including a thrashing of the 49ers late in the season, the Seahawks will struggle to beat their division rival on Sunday.
San Francisco took care of a very good Green Bay offense last week. Colin Kaepernick and Anquan Boldin hooked up 13 times for 208 yards and a touchdown in their first game together, so the Seahawks have to find a way to contain him. If they are able to do that, the 49ers still have Vernon Davis, Frank Gore or even Kaepernick who can find ways to beat them.
Seattle has Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch who can control a game on the ground, but it will need Golden Tate and Sidney Rice to step up in order to stay with the 49ers.
Last week in Carolina, the Seahawks needed a late touchdown to beat the Panthers. Carolina has a good defense, and the trip across the country likely played a role in the game. However, the Seahawks should have looked better in their opener.
Playing in Seattle will give them an advantage, but talent will win out at the end of the day. San Francisco has too many weapons to work with on offense, especially with Kaepernick being a threat to pass or run.
