Chris Chelios, D

One of the best American-born players to ever play in the NHL, Chris Chelios made 11 All-Star teams and was part of three Stanley Cup champions (Montreal, Detroit twice). The defenseman posted 185 goals and 763 assists in 1,651 career games with the Canadiens, Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and Atlanta Thrashers. He ranks fifth all-time in games and defensive point shares, and 38th in assists, per Hockey-Reference.com. He won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenseman three times.

Scott Niedermayer, D

An 18-year veteran in the NHL, Scott Niedermayer is one of the game's greatest all-time point-scorers as a defenseman. The five-time All-Star and four-time Stanley Cup champion (three with New Jersey, one with Anaheim) scored 172 goals and notched 568 assists in 1,263 career games, even more impressive considering he did it in the lowest scoring era in NHL history. He ranks 11th all-time in defensive point shares, via Hockey-Reference.com.

Brendan Shanahan, LW

Brendan Shanahan, one of the top goal-scorers in NHL history, played in 1,524 games over the course of 21 seasons with the New Jersey Devils, St. Louis Blues, Hartford Whalers, Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers. The eight-time All-Star won three Stanley Cups with the Red Wings from 1997 to 2002. Shanahan notched 656 goals (13th all-time, via Hockey-Reference.com) and 698 assists during his career. That included ranking sixth all-time in power-play goals, 17th in offensive point shares and 25th in points.

Geraldine Heaney

Geraldine Heaney was not only a seven-time gold medalist at the world championships with Canada's national team, she was also a silver medalist at the 1998 Winter Games and a gold medalist in Salt Lake City in 2002. Back then, it was largely a male-dominated game, so the fact that Heaney made such an impact speaks volumes about her success and dedication. She was among the first three women inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame. Heaney was the only player to participate in every women's world championship from 1987 to 2001. Heaney not only was a fantastic hockey player in her time, she helped pave the way for women in the sport.
