So, which games should be drawing the most interest?
No. 2 Duke vs. No. 3 Michigan State, Midwest Region
The Duke Blue Devils are led by head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Coach K is a four-time national champion, has made 11 Final Four appearances and 12 trips to the Elite Eight.
To put it simply, Krzyzewski is a legend.
The Michigan State Spartans, meanwhile, are coached by Tom Izzo. He won a national championship, has made six Final Four appearances and seven runs to the Elite Eight.
If that's not an intriguing matchup, what is?
No. 1 Kansas vs. No. 4 Michigan, South Region
If not for a 72-71 season-ending loss to the Indiana Hoosiers, the Michigan Wolverines would have owned a share of the Big Ten title. In turn, they would have been seeded higher than fifth in the Big Ten Tournament.
One can only imagine that they'd have been in the running for a No. 1 seed.
As for Kansas, they're the reigning Big 12 regular season and conference tournament champions. They've made it to the Sweet 16 in lackluster fashion, with freshman star Ben McLemore shooting 2-for-14 from the floor.
We'll now see elite draft prospects in McLemore facing Trey Burke—the definition of intrigue.
No. 3 Florida vs. No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast, South Region
The Florida Gators have been a powerhouse in college basketball for more than a decade. They've won two national titles in that time and have become the class of college basketball in the state of Florida.
As fate would have it, the Gators now put that label on the line against the fastest rising program in the nation—No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast.
The Eagles have made history, becoming the first No. 15 seed ever to make the Sweet 16. In order to reach the Elite Eight, the Eagles must take down their in-state rival.
This game has intrigue, excitement and the potential for legendary accolades.
