A Letter to Joe Banner....

Dear Joe Banner,

I am speaking on behalf of my fellow Eagle die-hards, WE WANT A CHAMPIONSHIP!!  We are close to achieving the goal of that elusive Lombardi Trophy, but we are just a piece or two short.

First of all, I want to say that myself along with many Eagle fans are still upset about the way you handled the Brian Dawkins situation. 

I understand that a five year deal for Dawkins is a little over the top; however, he should be an Eagle at any cost.  Make him an offer he cannot resist.  He was the heart and soul of this team and was the face of the franchise along with Donovan McNabb.

That brings me to my next issue...Donovan McNabb.  Along with Andy Reid, Donovan McNabb has turned around this franchise.  We had a losing culture when Andy and Donovan came to Philly and they helped put the franchise back on top. 

The man wants a new contract, and he deserves it.  He has went through so much in his tenure with us, and he has handled every issue with such pride and dignity.

Give Donovan McNabb the deal that he wants and deserves.  Please, Please, Please, make Donovan McNabb retire as an Eagle. 

I remember you saying that changes will be made after the NFC Championship game.  What changes have been made? 

The Brian Dawkins departure is not the change I had in mind.  I know its still early, but please go get Donovan McNabb some weapons.  Please make a deal for Anquan Boldin!  He is a perfect fit for this offense and would make us DEADLY!

In addition to helping Donovan, go get help for Brian Westbrook!  Be bold and draft a running back in the first round!  That would indicate to many fans that you are indeed making changes and trying to put the VERY best team out on the field.

I do like a couple additions that we have made this off-season.  First, I love the addition of Stacey Andrews.  He was the best linemen out there and we got him. Kudos to you!

I also like the addition of Leonard Weaver.  I think it shows that we will be a little more committed to the run. 

Also, Sean Jones was one of the most underratted pick ups this offseason.  There is no way he will ever fill the shoes of Brian Dawkins, but he is a very good player.  He makes plays constantly and will add a new element to this defense.

Although myself along with many Eagle fans do not agree with some of the moves you make, we all whole-heartedly support this team. 

The fact of the matter is, you have brought a lot of joy to the city of Philadelphia and Eagles fans worldwide.  We are the most passionate fans in the NFL, and all we want is a Championship.
