Quarterbacks and Their Rings
I just read another article on here and it got me thinking. What does a ring on a finger really prove if you're a quarterback? Does it make you great? Does it make you better than a quarterback without a ring?
Let's start with those who have some rings. Brett Favre, Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, John Elway, and Peyton Manning are some good ones.
Tom Brady has a career QB rating of 92.9. Peyton Manning has a career QB rating of 94.7. Ben Roethlisberger has a career rating of 89.4. Brett Favre has a career QB rating of 85.4. John Elway has a career QB rating of 79.9.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl with a career rating of 70.2. Rex Grossman has the same career rating as Trent, but he doesn't have a job anymore.
How does Rex Grossman and Trent Dilfer equal to the other quarterbacks listed above? They don't. It's obvious they are not as good.
Would you consider Dan Marino and Jay Cutler to be better than Trent Dilfer and Rex Grossman? Absolutely. But they don't have rings on their fingers.
What does this mean? To me it means a ring on your finger doesn't prove anything.
Would you consider Terry Bradshaw to be better than Rex Grossman and Trent Dilfer? I did at first because Terry has more rings. However, Terry Bradshaw only has a career rating of 70.9. So having more than one ring doesn't mean anything, either.
Did you know that Rodney Peete has a career rating of 73.3? That's better than Rex Grossman, Trent Dilfer, and Terry Bradshaw.
Everyone got so crazy and bent out of shape when Jay Cutler said he was better than John Elway. John Elway had the rating of 79.9. Jay Cutler has a current career rating of 87.1. Dan Marino has a smaller career rating of 86.4. Does that make Jay Cutler better than Dan Marino, too?
I'm not going to answer that question for you. But to come out and scrutinize Jay Cutler for saying that is down right unfair when he has a very valid point. Matt Cassel has a career QB rating of 88.2.
Rings don't mean a thing about how good a quarterback is and a good quarterback isn't necessarily going to get you any rings. Just ask Denver, who now has a quarterback with a career rating of 71.1. At least he has a higher rating than Terry Bradshaw.
