Leon Hall charged with D.U.I.

Zane DanielsApr 8, 2009

According to reports coming out of Cincinnati, Leon Hall has been charged by the Ohio State Highway Patrol with driving under the influence.

According to this article from the Cincinnati Enquirer, Hall was pulled over April 5 at 3:11 a.m. for going left to center. He was asked to submit a breathalyzer which apparently came back 0.149. The legal limit in Ohio is .08. If the report is accurate, Hall was almost twice the legal limit.

The article states that Hall received a phone call from his wife ordering him to return home because she was having a baby. Hall admitted to the arresting officer that he had been drinking, and was taken to the Batavia post of the Highway Patrol where he was later released to an unidentified friend.

The news comes only a day after the Bengals signed Tank Johnson, who has previous entanglements with the law.

Hall has been one of the best players on an improving Bengals defense recording 75 tackles and three interceptions last season.

This scares me.....I figured living in a suburb of Cincinnati I would be far enough away from the city to avoid any drunken Bengal motorists but this arrest happened only a mile away from the Bob homestead. Remind me to avoid the roads at 3:11 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

I am shocked that a guy like Hall put himself in this position. If his wife was indeed having a child then I can understand....still a bad decision and is inexcusable, but I understand why feel the need to jump behind the wheel of a car. The bright spot is, you just can't lie abut your wife having a baby if she really wasn't....SOMEONE will figure that out.

Regardless....Hall is to be arraigned in Clermont County Municipal Court on Friday on charges of driving under the influence.

More to come...
