Memo to Giants Managment: Trade for Braylon Edwards
After learning that our top receiver, Plaxico Burress, has been cut it is time to move on for another player to fill his role. And the gap Plaxico Burress will leave in this offense is big, no doubt and it will be hard for any player to fill.
In his four years with the New York Giants, Plaxico Burress piled up 244 receptions, 3,680 yards, and 33 touchdowns.
But Burress also provided something that can't be put into stats. Burress pulled in double coverage getting his other receivers open, which helped out his other Giants teammates and Eli Manning.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Another thing we can all remember from Burress' time as a Giant is his game winning touchdown in the Super Bowl against the Patriots.
But now that Plaxico is gone who will take his place?
The answer to that is Braylon Edwards.
In the last four years with the Browns Edwards has had 228 receptions, 3,358 yards, and 28 touchdowns.
Sure his stats are a little bit lower, but Edwards has only been in the league for four years and he will be getting better as he gets older. Edwards also hasn't been able to have one quarterback in that time. He has had Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, and Charlie Frye.
If he came to New York he would be able to work with one quarterback, Eli Manning. If he stayed in Cleveland he would also be able to have his second coach Eric Mangini.
I will not try to avoid the one problem Braylon does have though and that is his dropped passes.
I think with some work though these dropped passes can be worked on.
But is Braylon worth the draft picks we would likely have to give up for him?
Yes because Braylon is only four years into the league and has a bright future ahead of him. If we had to give up two of this years picks then we would benefit in the present and down the long run.
Will Braylon be able to fill the gap opened by Plaxico? Yes. Please Giants management bring in Braylon Edwards.
