MLB Power Rankings: Where All 30 Teams Stand After the Justin Upton Trade
With the month of February just around the corner and the MLB offseason winding down, two impact players remain on the free-agent market in Kyle Lohse and Michael Bourn.
One player no longer available, however, is Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton, who was finally traded to the Braves after months of speculation he could be on the move.
Aside from that trade, there have been a handful of minor signings over the past few weeks as teams put the finishing touches on their rosters entering spring training.
Here are my updated power rankings, the first since the start of the new year. Where does your favorite team stand?
Note: Rosters taken fromย MLBDepthCharts.com.
30. Houston Astros (Previous: 30)
1 of 30Offseason Overview
Given their ongoing rebuilding process, the offseason has gone as expected for the Astros.ย They've added a few veteran pieces, highlighted by Carlos Pena. He will be the team's DH in their first season in the American League.ย
Expect another long season in Houston, as it will be surprising if they avoid the 100-loss mark. There will be reason for excitement, though, as a number of prospects could make their debuts this season.

2 of 30Offseason Overview
After gutting their roster in a trade with the Blue Jays, expectations are low for the Marlins entering the season. They'll have a tough time avoiding the cellar in their division.
They added a pair of solid prospects in Justin Nicolino and Jake Marisnick, and young big leaguers in Adeiny Hechavarria and Henderson Alvarez, but that won't make things much better in the year ahead.

They also added a pair of top pitching prospects in Trevor May and Alex Meyer in return for outfielders Denard Span and Ben Revere. While they still may not be able to contend in the AL Central this season, they'll be a lot better off than last year.

The Rockies haven't done anything to bolster their starting rotation outside of signing Chris Volstad and Miguel Batista to minor league deals, but they'll benefit from getting the trio of Jorge De La Rosa, Jhoulys Chacin and Juan Nicasio back to full health.
They'll also hopefully have a healthy Troy Tulowitzki back manning shortstop and hitting in the middle of the lineup. Until the pitching proves reliable, they won't rank any higher than this. If everything breaks right, they could surprise this season.

5 of 30Offseason Overview
It's been a busy offseason for the Cubs, as they've added a ton of veteran pieces to fill out their roster, most of whom could very well be traded by midseason.
Scott Hairston was the most recent addition, and he'll platoon with another newcomer in Nate Schierholtz in right field. Edwin Jackson, Scott Feldman, Scott Baker, Carlos Villanueva and Kyuji Fujikawa were also added to bolster the pitching staff.
The team has plenty of new faces if nothing else.

The Dickey trade may have made the team worse for 2013, but it has the potential to be a great move long term. The team signed Shaun Marcum to replace him in the rotation on a one-year, $4 million deal that could wind up being a steal.

Nick Swisher was the marquee signing, but they also added Mark Reynolds and Brett Myers, among others. If they can get a decent season out of Ubaldo Jimenez atop the rotation, they could be one of the year's surprise teams.

They also added Jeff Keppinger to man third base and signed Matt Lindstrom to serve as a right-handed setup option. A lot went right for the White Sox to contend last season, and with essentially the same team minus A.J. Pierzynski, they'll have to catch some breaks again.
