Senior Bowl 2013: Top QBs to Watch in Mobile

Ryan RudnanskyJun 7, 2018

As we head into the 2013 Senior Bowl on Saturday, there are several quarterback prospects NFL scouts will be taking a strong look at in Mobile, Ala.

While 2013's class of signal-callers may not be as dynamic as previous classes, there are still a few prospects who could develop into legitimate starters in the NFL.

Let's take a look at the top quarterback prospects to watch in the 2013 Senior Bowl on Jan. 26.

Tyler Wilson, Arkansas

The two things that come to mind most when discussing Tyler Wilson is arm strength and toughness.

He played hard against tough SEC competition at Arkansas and he rivals USC's Matt Barkley in terms of throwing the ball down the field.

Mike Glennon, North Carolina State

Mike Glennon has soared up draft boards since the beginning of the 2012 campaign. At 6'5", 232 pounds, he has the size and arm strength of a prototypical pocket passer in the NFL.

On the other other hand, his footwork isn't particularly sound at this point in his career and that has affected his accuracy at times.

E.J. Manuel, Florida State

E.J. Manuel also has good size at the quarterback position (6'4", 236 pounds), along with the arm strength and athleticism to make an impact at the NFL level.

There are some questions about him, though. Mainly, Manuel's vision and his ability in the pocket under pressure. He also needs to learn the pro-style offense, which could lengthen his development process early on.

Ryan Nassib, Syracuse

Ryan Nassib's arm strength, size (6'2", 228 pounds), intelligence and toughness will stand out to NFL scouts, but he does need to work on his touch.

Nassib's ability to drop the ball over coverage in intermediate routes will be looked at closely throughout the draft process.

Landry Jones, Oklahoma

Landry Jones' stock has plummeted since last year, particularly because he struggled under pressure and when reading the defense this past season.

Jones has the size and physical tools to be a starter in the NFL, but his decision-making and vision has been questioned lately. If he can make sound reads moving forward during the draft process, his stock could rise significantly.
