TJ's Quick Hits: The NFC South Edition

Atlanta Falcons

First of all, big props to Matt Ryan for making the entire city of Atlanta ask the question "Michael Who?"

Not to mention the maturity Ryan shows. The thing I noticed most about him is that he isn't afraid at all to throw to his left.

I wish I could find a way to knock the Falcons, they have such a great core group of players, Matt Ryan, Roddy White, Michael Turner, John Abraham and BINGO! Michael Jenkins!

Now, when I think of Michael Jenkins, I think of one play in particular. And I wish for the life of me that I could remember what game it was in.

All I know is that he ran an out route, was completely uncovered, Matt Ryan hit him squarely between the numbers and what did Jenkins do? Catch it and run for a 50 yard touchdown?

He dropped it like it bit him.

Carolina Panthers

Quick. What's the first thing you think of when you think of the Panthers?

Losing the Super Bowl to the Patriots? The running game? Narrowly losing to the Giants in overtime because John Kasay missed a chip shot?

Is it Jake Delhomme's FIVE interceptions and one fumble against the Cardinals this past playoff season? On his birthday nonetheless.

Looks like the candles weren't the only thing Jake was blowing that day.

New Orleans Saints

Yesterday I was doing as I always do and checking out the latest sports headlines from Yahoo, Fox, Sports Spyder, etc.

And the headline that stuck out the most was "Karney Gets Dumped The Day Before His Wedding β€” By The Saints."

That's gotta hurt.

Not to mention everytime I think of the Saints Reggie Bush comes to mind. Words cannot express my extreme dislike (hatred?) for Reggie Bush.

Or as he's affectionately known to everyone I come in contact with as "Reggie Bust."

But, the Saints have two great stories going for them, one is Drew Brees, proving once more that people of small stature can achieve their dream.

You keep fighting for us shorties Drew. Fight the power.

The other and I say this from the bottom of my heart and with complete sincerity, is the fact that they took a city torn and ravaged by Hurricane Katrina and put their hopes and dreams on their back, leading the Saints to the NFC Championship game a few years ago.

I don't think there were many who didn't want to see the Saints play in the Super Bowl that year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Aging quarterback?

Disgruntled wide receiver?

Cutting a future Hall Of Famer?

Woah. If you take the worst things to happen to some teams this off season and roll them into one, you get the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

That being said, they did make some good moves including grabbing Kellen Winslow from the Cleveland Browns.

Not to mention the reworking of the team's parking garage specifically for Winslow.

They now have a section for fans, a section for players and a "staph only section."
