Week 2 Waiver Wire: Michael Jenkins and WRs Worthy of Adding to Your Roster
Every week in the NFL a handful of relatively unknowns make fantasy football owners cringe when they suddenly become stars.
The question then becomes: Will they do it again next week?
In the case of Week 2, there are a trio of underrated wide receivers—one of which has shined already—that fantasy owners should look to add to their roster before their opponent does.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Let's take a look.
Michael Jenkins, Minnesota Vikings
Sure, fantasy owners will be skeptical of a Vikings wide receiver wearing No. 84 not named Randy Moss, but hear me out.
The veteran wide receiver was targeted five times by second-year quarterback Christian Ponder in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Only Percy Harvin and Kyle Rudolph were targeted more than Jenkins.
Although Jenkins only finished with three receptions for 45 yards, he is clearly one of the top options for Ponder when he drops back to pass.
In addition to playing a significant role in Minnesota's offense, Jenkins will have the advantage of going up against the Indianapolis Colts' terrible pass defense in Week 2.
Indy allowed the fourth-most passing yards of any team in Week 1, surrendering 314 yards through the sky to Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears.
Rueben Randle, New York Giants
Rueben Randle? The LSU wide receiver?
Let me explain.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' pass defense isn't all that great and one has to think the Giants will be looking to send a message to the rest of the NFL after their Week 1 stinker. They will come out passing against a defense that allowed just 10 total rushing yards last week.
With Victor Cruz struggling to hold onto the ball, and Hakeem Nicks being blanketed by defenders, look for rookie wideout Randle to emerge as a solid target for Eli Manning.
At 6'2", 208 pounds, Randle can get separation from defenders and will benefit from all the attention his fellow New York wide receivers receive.
Andrew Hawkins, Cincinnati Bengals
Lost in the Bengals' 31-point loss at Baltimore in Week 1 was the breakout performance by Cincinnati wide receiver Andrew Hawkins.
The Toledo product was targeted nine times by quarterback Andy Dalton, catching eight passes for 86 yards. Only No. 1 WR A.J. Green was targeted more times than Hawkins against the Ravens.
A 5'7", 180-pound wide receiver, Hawkins is a tough cover for linebackers and will should have another big day running past the Cleveland Browns' defense, which will be without talented cornerback Joe Haden in Week 2.
The Browns allowed 306 passing yards in Week 1 to the Philadelphia Eagles. If Hawkins can get open against the Ravens defense, I love his chances to find space against Cleveland's secondary.
