Bears vs. Packers: Jay Cutler, OL Leading Chicago Nowhere Fast in 2012
Jay Cutler can throw the ball. Unfortunately, his offensive line will never let him prove it.
The Chicago Bears have many of the components necessary to make a Super Bowl run. However, ask Tony Romo what happens when you spend an excessive amount of your time on the run.
The issues on the Bears don't run that deep. There are three reasons, though, that the city of Chicago might want to start praying for Derrick Rose's return instead of counting on making the NFL playoffs.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Play-calling
Mike Tice took over as the offensive coordinator. He doesn't seem to understand his team's strengths.
The Bears ran the ball a total of 23 times against Green Bay on Thursday. Mind you, their backfield combination of Matt Forte and Michael Bush might be the most formidable in the NFL.
If your offensive line can't hold back the rush, then keep the D-line boys busy. The best way to do so is to pound the rock up the gut.
All night, they consistently got four yards a pop. Three runs like that equals a first down and keeps folks like Aaron Rodgers hanging out on the sidelines.
Clay Matthews Isn't the Only Pass-Rusher in the League
Matthews destroyed the Bears offensive line. The definition of destroyed is 3.5 sacks.
In case you don't know, Chicago plays in the NFC North—the home of Cliff Avril, Ndamukong Suh and Jared Allen.
That's before we look outside of the division. Jay Cutler will never get to complete a pass when he's being hauled down in the act.
Happy Feet Leads Erratic Throws
Poor play-calling and offensive line problems freak quarterbacks out. However, Jay Cutler isn't a rookie. It's time to shift those feet in the pocket and deliver the rock in a place that his receivers can catch it.
J'Marcus Webb isn't going anywhere. Cutler needs to learn to move around in the pocket a little more efficiently. Otherwise, this season is done before it started.
If he needs tape, he can check out Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers. Have you seen the Detroit Lions offensive line?
Until these problems are addressed, the Bears will be in the same spot I am on the first week of the playoffs: the couch.
