2012 Get 'em or Don't Sweat 'em Fantasy Football Waiver Advice: Week 2
There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Letโs take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.
Blaine Gabbert, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
He continued to look like a different quarterback, completing 23-of-39 passes for 260 yards and two TDs. He didnโt throw a pick. I wouldnโt own him now, but at least he could have some use when the bye weeks roll around.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
Mark Sanchez, QB, New York Jets
So much for the preseason offensive woes. Sanchez tossed three TDs and 266 yards. Tebow didnโt attempt a pass. Though his job is safe, I still wouldnโt want him on my fantasy team.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
Dexter McCluster, RB/WR, Kansas City Chiefs
He led the team with 10 targets, catching six passes for 82 yards. He has use in PPR leagues.
Ruling: Get โemโPPR Leagues
Alfred Morris, RB, Washington Redskins
Thereโs no telling that his job is safe given Shanahanโs running back history, but his 28 carries for 96 yards and two TDs have him safe for now.
Ruling: Get โem.
Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis Rams
Caught four passes on five targets for 51 yards and a score. I donโt trust the Ramsโ passing attack.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
Stephen Hill, WR, New York Jets
Heโs a freak athlete and blew up with five catches (six targets) for 89 yards and two scores. Heโll be inconsistent, but he should be considered for fantasy teams.
Ruling: Get โem if you have someone expendable.
Alshon Jeffrey, WR, Chicago Bears
Caught three passes on five targets for 80 yards and a score. He has some upside as WR depth.
Ruling: Get โem.
James Jones, WR, Green Bay Packers
Caught four passes for 81 yards and a score. He was the least targeted of the Packersโ WRs. Heโll ย have solid games, but will be inconsistent.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
Jeremy Kerley, WR, New York Jets
Had four catches for 45 yards and a score to go with a punt return for TD. Look elsewhere.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
Kevin Ogletree, WR, Dallas Cowboys
He wonโt always be the brightest star in Dallas, but they way he opened the season, coming off the out-of-nowhere success that Laurent Robinson had last year, he should very much be on your radar.
Ruling: Get โem.
Randy Moss, WR,ย San Francisco 49ers
Moss returned with four catches, 47 yards and a score. With his ability to score, heโs worth owning.
Ruling: Get โem.
Andre Roberts, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Roberts caught five passes (nine targets) for 54 yards and a TD. Iโd hold off on adding him as the Cardinals are a mess offensively.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
Aldrick Robinson, WR, Washington Redskins
Robinson caught four passes for 52 yards and a score. Iโd leave him on the wires for now.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
Cecil Shorts, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Had four catches on seven targets for 74 yards and a score. I wouldnโt drop anybody I drafted for him.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
Martellus Bennett, TE, New York Giants
Caught four passes for 40 yards and a score.ย He could be on the verge of a solid season, but with the TE depth, Iโd probably just monitor him at this point.
Ruling: Donโt sweat โem.
