The Latest Updates and Analysis on 2012 NFL Roster Cuts
Monday was a rather busy day when it came to NFL roster cuts.
The Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints and New York Giants were the busiest of teams after an even busier Sunday.
That said, only a few names stuck out as expected because most players not making the cut have minimal-to-zero NFL experience and are young as well.

Vince Young, QB
Well so much for having Vince Young's rookie card, right?
According to The Associated Press via ESPN.com:
"The Buffalo Bills have a new backup in Tarvaris Jackson, and they've cut Vince Young in a sudden shuffle of quarterbacks on Monday.
"
For one, it was a surprise to see him and the Tennessee Titans split after the 2010 season where Young had 10 touchdowns to only three picks and 1,255 passing yards through nine games. Sure there were attitude issues, but given the Titans' current situation, Young would be a better option.
Unfortunately, Young's career has taken a quick nosedive since playing for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011 and the Bills passing on his services for 2012. He's still a mobile quarterback with a good arm, but Young lacked decision-making and poise in the pocket this preseason.
He was just 12-of-26 against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week with two picks, and against the Washington Redskins, Young got sacked three times. His best preseason performance was going 8-of-14 against the Minnesota Vikings, who have one of the league's worst defenses, so this cut was seemingly a foregone conclusion.
Luke McCown, QB
This came as no surprise considering that the New Orleans Saints already have their two system quarterbacks in place with Drew Brees and backup Chase Daniel.
"There weren't too many surprises as the New Orleans Saints slimmed down their roster to 75 players by Monday afternoon's deadline.
The Saints released veterans defensive tackle Remi Ayodele and quarterback Luke McCown.
"
At this juncture, McCown would have been lucky to make third string. Despite being a nine-year veteran, the former mid-round selection never got a grasp on the NFL.
McCown's best and most contributory season came with the Cleveland Browns in 2005. There, he played in five games and tossed five scores to three picks with 1,009 yards.
Beginning the 2012 season under center for the Jacksonville Jaguars, McCown appeared in only four games and had zero touchdowns to four interceptions. The Saints didn't need him and it wouldn't be surprising if everyone veered away from him as well.
Myron Rolle, Safety
Not every great story has a fairy tale ending. And unfortunately this has been the case for Myron Rolle's NFL career.
In an interview with David Weinberg of the Press of Atlantic City, Rolle stated:
""They actually told me last night at the hotel where we're all staying," Rolle said Monday in a phone interview. "I was surprised when it happened because I thought I had a good camp.
"
On the bright side perhaps another team will offer him a practice squad position.
Rolle certainly has the football IQ and instincts to contribute, because few players possess his ability to forgo a year of college eligibility and be a Rhodes Scholar—as he was a sixth-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
Of all the player cut, Rolle easily has some the most potential and being just 25 years old helps as well. It's a pass-happy league and defenses need any kind of help in the secondary to fend off the explosive offenses.
Even as a nickel/dime back or special teams contributor Rolle could make an impact. Field position is obviously vital to winning games and any team who failed in that category last season must consider Rolle for 2012.
