SF Giants Go Back to the Future with DeLorean Hovercraft
There is just one thing to ask when watching this amazing DeLorean hovercraft: "Does that thing get up to 88 miles per hour?"
Off the Bench has more on this odd sight taken from the waters of McCovey Cove at AT&T Park. It features Matthew Riese and the DeLorean hovercraft he fashioned after receiving funds from Kickstarter.
Here is a snippet of what Riese had to say about this creation:

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
"The craft is able to hover on anything flat (asphalt, sand, water, etc), but it will be mostly driven on the San Francisco Bay. The hovercraft is registered with the DMV in California as a boat (it is not street legal). The top speed should be around 45 mph, which is pretty impressive for a vehicle with no brakes (it’s not touching the ground, remember!).
Why did I build it? The funny thing is I’m not really sure. The only thing I know is that I think I wanted to create something epic.
"
So there is no worry about this thing flying off to November 5, 1955, a red-letter date in scientific history, or off to the future where hoverboards are as ubiquitous as Starbucks coffee shops.
By the way, we are still waiting patiently for this, just in case Riese would like to invent something else form the legendary movie trilogy.
I do have to agree with this hovercraft genius about one thing, he certainly created something epic. The best part is it floats on water, allowing him to state the following when he is asked about the sick ride:
"Roads? Where we are going, we don't need roads."
